Eggroll in a Bowl

1lb ground beef

1/2lb sausage-optional

1½c sliced yellow pepper

1 sm yellow onion, chopped

1½ Tsp sesame oil

1TBS ginger paste

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 C Miso broth from Trader Joes or plain beef broth

2TBSP Tamari, or to taste

10oz shredded cabbage(found at Trader Joes)

Dash of stevia

Green onion, chopped for garnish

Optional: 1/2Tbsp crushed red pepper, 2tbsp chili paste



In a large pan brown the beef and sausage. Drain excess fat.

Add onions and sesame oil and cook for 4-5 minutes.

Add spices, stevia, crushed red pepper, broth and stir well. Cook for 1-2 minutes and add cabbage, stirring to coat.

Cook for 5-6 minutes until cabbage wilts, stirring frequently.

Add the yellow pepper and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Add tamari and chili paste to taste and adjust as desired.

Garnish with green onion.   Serves 6.


*This dish is great served with scrambled eggs for next day lunch or dinner!
