TRX Suspension Training – A Total Body Workout For All Fitness Levels!
This month, the Symmetry Spine and Wellness team spent a weekend of learning and physical training at the well known, Windsor Spine and Wellness Center in Windsor, Colorado. The Symmetry team is continuously working to stay on the cutting edge of wellness, fitness and Chiropractic Biophysics® technique. Saturday morning of our learning weekend began with a trainer-led TRX workout on Power Plates!
What is TRX?
TRX is short for Total Resistance eXercise. TRX was first created by Navy SEAL Squadron Commander Randy Hetrick in 1997. They only use jiu jitsu belt and parachute webbing. This invention allowed soldiers to stay in good shape but use very little space. In 2001, Hetrick released the first official version of TRX, called TRX Suspension Trainer. It quickly caught the attention of everyone, especially athletes.
TRX Suspension Trainer uses body weight to develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. TRX leverages gravity and the user’s body weight to perform a variety of exercises for a fast and effective total body workout that is suitable for all fitness levels.
The TRX Suspension Trainer is designed with heavy-duty straps, handles, foot cradles, and padding.
Benefits of TRX Suspension Training
Today, TRX is increasingly popular because of its simplicity and efficiency. Here are the benefits that TRX Suspension Training brings:
- Improve the balance and stability of the body;
- Increase muscle strength and improve endurance;
- Helps to lose belly fat effectively;
- Improve posture;
- Supports the cardiovascular system;
- Helps relieve low back pain.
Who is TRX Suspension Training right for?
The TRX includes adjustable slings suitable for a wide range of people, from beginners to professional athletes.
The variety of exercises and variations for each move are endless, making TRX training not only fascinating, but beneficial for everyone.
Recently, the elderly also tend to use TRX as a new therapy because it allows the elderly to move freely without fear of falling. TRX is also used by the Symmetry Health Center ciropractor team to rehabilitate our patients.
If you are a beginner, you should work with a qualified personal trainer or certified TRX trainer.
We are proud to announce the integration of TRX Suspension Training® into our own Power Plate® fitness classes in Oakland and Alameda. Symmetry offers morning, afternoon and evening Power Plate® classes to fit any schedule. Break out of that rut and experience the dramatic results that are possible with a brand new routine!
